Day 2 building

The 2 groups switched sites today and we both got a shock at how different the sites where. We put up the walls of the toilet blocks today and it was amazing to see how the people built as they have no machinery to move blocks or make cement etc.

Another day another story, today we began building in the communities. Work was tough, tedious and enjoyable, the craic was had the sing songs where sung and the locals had a good wee giggle at us trying to sing.
We were spoiled with coffee ceremonies today and the locals are all showing us so much appreciation and laughing and smiling with us which is a great help when laboring away.

Here's the before and after shots of what we did today. These are the new toilet blocks which will improve local hygiene as well as give most of the people we're working with their first proper clean toilets
There will be more photos with captions going up tomorrow from today aswell.

We've all arrived safely in addis and a delicious breakfast was awaiting us even though most of us don't quite know the time difference. (It goes something like add 2hours take away 8 years - genuinely)

Now today after our orientation we had a very special occasion, Matthew Tumelty was lucky enough to have us with him to celebrate his 20th birthday and of course we had some caterpillar cake.

Tomorrow we start our hard work building in the poorer community and we are all excited and nervous to say the least. It'll be tough but of course we'll all have good craic.

Less than 24 hours now until we all leave for Ethiopia. Excitement is too much to handle!!!!!
